Descripción
Sea surface temperature (SST) play an important role in climate change, particularly natural hazards. Monitoring SST could help to prepare for upcoming sea induced hazard like the tropical cyclone. Studies found a positive correlation between SST and the intensity of tropical cyclones. There lie a minimum threshold for the occurrence of tropical cyclones varying in different seas and should be known regionally. In addition, the warmer summer SST is one of the triggering factors of heavy monsoon. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor SST regularly in future, to help concern authorities (e.g. disaster management authorities) to cope natural hazards.
