UID Compliance

UID Compliance, also called as Unique Identification is a standard process authorized by the Department of Defense (DoD) where all the contracts, deliverables and government property in possession of contractors are mandated to be marked with a unique identification number. A UID is essentially a 2D data matrix symbol where data is scanned and interpreted into 3 major parts such as Serial Number, Part Number and CAGE Code. These three essential parts are combined to make a unique serialized identification number for all the items that the DoD use for managing the life cycle of all the items at its disposal. Items which follow the standard procedures and steps formulated by the Department of Defense (DoD) come under UID Compliance category.
