Cristina Giesta Ramos is a Neuroradiologist specialist since 2008, after her residency in Neuroradiology at the Department of Neuroradiology of Hospital Geral de Santo António, Porto. During her residency, she did a period of six months as a visiting resident at the Department of Neuroradiology of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She is a certified neuroradiologist by the European Society of Neuroradiology and by the Portuguese College of Neuroradiology since 2008.Her activity includes diagnostic neuroradiology, participating in multidisciplinary meetings on CNS tumors and orientation of residents. In the academic area, she is involved in pre- and post-graduated teaching and mastering in courses orientated to other medical specialities. She has also worked as an invited assistant of Neuroanatomy at University of Porto’s Biomedical Sciences Institute (ICBAS -Portugal) in the period 2010-2016. Her main interests are Diagnostic Neuroradiology, particularly advanced MRI techniques, as perfusion imaging, spectroscopy and DTI and tractography for pre-surgical mapping in tumors and epilepsy.
Cristiana Vasconcelos is an attending neuroradiologist in the Department of Neuroradiology of Centro Hospitalar of Porto. She received her medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto University in 1997 and completed the neuroradiology residency at Centro Hospitalar of Porto in 2001. During her residency, she passed a short period as a visiting resident at division of Neuroradiology of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. Cristiana Vasconcelos main interests includes Brain and Head and Neck Disorders and MRI advanced techniques. She has published in some international journals, including American Journal of Neuroradiology, Neuroradiology, Cognitive Behavioral Neurology and Brain Structure and Function.
"This case-based neuroradiology book consists of 70 cases mainly from Portuguese neuroscience centres. ... This book would be suitable for those trainees preparing for their final FRCR examination, as well as those in subspeciality neuroradiology training. The case mix is excellent, with some great examples of rarer conditions." (RAD Magazine , September, 2018)
