The conflict is located in the East and Southeast Anatolia and Northern Iraq. According to official figures released by the Turkish military for the 1984-2008 period, the conflict has resulted in the capture of 14,000 PKK members, and the death of 17,000 PKK members, 6,482 soldiers, and 5,560 civilians.
